Police Charge Man Accused of Slashing Woman’s ThroatLast Thursday, Shona Baptist, a call agent, was callously attacked and her throat slashed while she was on the job at home in the Bryan Estate area of Burrell Boom Village. Her attacker has been identified as her common-law husband, Manuel Rodriguez, who police say inflicted the wound during a domestic dispute the two were having. After the incident, neighbours restrained Rodriguez and detained him until the police arrived. News of the incident angered people who turned to Facebook to express their rage at Rodriguez. Today, Regional Commander of the Belize Police Department’s Eastern Division, A.C.P Hilberto Romero said that this was the first time that the police were called out to the home to deal with a domestic disturbance.
